6th National Swimming Championships Masters 25+
BULLETIN – INVITATION
Syros Nautical Club (NOS), along with the Hellenic Swimming Federation (KOE), the South Aegean Region and the Municipality of Syros-Hermoupolis as co-organizers, organize and launch an event under the name “International Competition – 6th National Swimming Championships Masters 25+”.
The event will be held in the Municipal Swimming Pool of Syros, a swimming pool (50 m x 21 m and 02.00 m – 02.20 m depth), which has 890 seats for spectators.
The Swimming Pool is part of Syros Sports Center “Dimitrios Vikelas” and is located at a distance of 1,980 m from Hermoupolis city centre.

The Greek swimmers who wish to participate should have a Sports Card, a Health Card and an Accreditation Card of KOE in force (2020). The swimmers who are members of a National Federation other than KOE, should send their entries in due time, in order to be confirmed by their respective Federation. While at the competition, foreign swimmers must have their sports ID, health Card and Solemn Declaration of Health properly signed.

HONOURS – TROPHIES
Medals and diplomas will be awarded to the first 3 winners in each category and discipline.
The swimming events will be held in accordance with the regulations of the International Swimming Federation (FINA), the European Swimming Federation (LEN) and the Hellenic Swimming Federation (KOE).
They will be supervised by a member of the Management Committee and a Technical Director of the Hellenic Swimming Federation (KOE).
Syros Nautical Club has been approved on Special Sports Recognition for the sports of Swimming and Water Polo, by the Ministry of Culture – General Secretariat of Sports No. IP 63. Also, Syros Nautical Club has been certified as a Sports Tourism Organization by the Ministry of Culture – General Secretariat of Sports, code A.T. 11 and as a European Sports Organisation of the E.U. (PIC: 924404472).
ELIGIBILITY – EVENTS
- The events will be held in 5 sessions, in final heats and as open category. Swimmers will be seeded in heats according to their personal best times, confirmed by their Federation.
The seeding will be separate for each category, based on the results achieved in swimming events of KOE. When there is no data available (personal bests), the seeding is based on the registration number of KOE (smallest to largest).
- Each Club participates with an unlimited number of swimmers and one relay team. Swimmers have the right to participate in max. two individual events and one relay per session. Athletes are not allowed to exceed 6 individual events.
- The relay teams should consist of swimmers that belong to the same Club.
- Foreign male/female MASTERS swimmers also have the right to participate in these events. Their entry form shall be submitted either by their Clubs, the Swimming Federation to which they belong to, or individually.
- Participation statements and applications will open on February 1st 2020, and should be submitted until Friday June 5th 2020, at the latest, to the email of KOE: firstname.lastname@example.org c. to Syros Nautical Club e-mail: email@example.com
- The relay participation statements should be submitted along with the athletes’ individual statements.
Participation fee is set at 30.00 euros per person (27.00 € for Syros Nautical Club & 3.00 € for Hellenic Swimming Federation), which should be deposited to Syros Nautical Club bank account, so that your participation can be approved.
Cancellation Policy: For cancellations money is refunded in full.

Please note that if participants choose to make a deposit from another bank, they will be charged with the cost of remittance.
An ambulance with medical and nursing personnel will be standing by at Syros General Hospital. At the site of the events, there will be a Cardiologist and a Specialist with a defibrillator in attendance.
In any event, all competitors participate entirely at their own risk. The organizers bear no responsibility for any incident that may occur during the races, on a health issue which is due to lack of preventive medical check.
It is recommended that participants have recently undergone a medical examination.
Syros has a hospital that serves the needs of all the islands of the archipelago. “The General Hospital of Syros” is located at the city center, has a 110 beds capacity, is away only 750m from the Municipal Swimming Pool and is equipped with: Internal Medicine Department, Surgery / Orthopedics Clinic, Cardiology Unit, Myocardial Unit, Pediatric Department & Artificial Kidney Unit (dialysis).
Also, the island of Syros has a National Emergency Aid Centre helicopter base, for the transport of patients and injured people, with a 24-hour availability.
The discount benefits on ferry tickets, accommodation and other benefits will be announced at the organization’s website www.nosyrou.gr.
The Municipal Swimming Pool is situated at a distance of 1,890m from Hermoupolis city centre and one can either use the Municipal Transportation, which is completely free of charge, or use a taxi that costs about € 4.00, if they are not disposed to walk.
